Community Claw is a game, and the goal of the game is determined by you. By using the crude tool of the claw you can set out on a variety of projects - terraforming, ecological restoration, real estate development, construction, geological exploration, preservation, and more. Who gets to change the earth? Who has access and control over the tools that manipulate land, neighborhoods, and cities.

This project seeks to reframe the often simplistic and binary way that we view human impact on the earth. It’s popular to view human influence as unnatural, or as a stain on pristine, untouched, virgin wilderness. What if instead we viewed our impact as we view all animal impact: as inevitable change? What if we framed environmental change as play that we can all participate in? Community Claw is a game about agency and physical control of the environment. How will you play?
